Speedbump
Speedbump is a 16 1/2 year old cat. He doesn’t know it. Even with diabetes, he’s likely the healthiest mammal in the house…
We’re not looking forward to inflicting a better-part-of-a-day day of travel on him to get him to Scotland… There was a possibility of getting him across on a cruise ship except that it turned out that kennels need to be booked 2 years in advance. Sorry, kitty.
Recently, he’s had his insulin dropped from 2 units in the morning, 1 in the evening to just 1 unit in the morning. Problem is, no one told Speedbump that his routine changed…so now I have to go through the ritual every morning and evening: drop the treats on the floor and he’ll wait for the jab before starting in on them.
Really.
So I have to fake that I’m jabbing him; I pinch up some skin, sometimes I need to nip him a little with fingernails to make him think it’s actually happening, and then he’ll eat the treats.
He’s a weirdo.
